Yearbooks
are a great way for students to reminisce about their alma mater,
even long after their graduation. They also allow individuals to
remember their fellow students, and recall any major events they may
have participated in while enrolled in their previous school. If you
have been assigned to help prepare a yearbook for a graduating
elementary class, you will have to make several considerations in
order to successfully make a memento that everyone will cherish.
It
is important that all those involved in the creation of a yearbook
should prepare for it well in advance. Proper preparation prevents
the risks of rushing the project or any disastrous last-minute
changes. It might also help if a yearbook committee decides on a
central theme to tie together all the elements of a yearbook. The
committee should also gather pictures of the students and of
momentous events as soon as the school year starts.
Even
with all the planning and materials readied, a yearbook committee
might not be properly equipped to publish the book. Fortunately,
there are small publishers around the country that offer their
services so that schools can have their yearbooks printed. Yearbook
committees planning on enlisting a third party publisher for their
annuals should consider employing only the most experienced,
competent and committed publishers for the job.
